BC Fishing Licence and Regulations

British Columbia Fishing Regulations

Depending upon where you intend to fish you will either need a freshwater or a saltwater fising licence. One licence does not entitle you to fish anywhere in BC.

Saltwater licences are issued by the Federal Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO). Freshwater licences are issued by the provincial Ministry of the Environment, Fish and Wildlife Branch. You can purchase either type of licence at sporting goods stores and other fishing retailers as well as most Government Agents' offices throughout the province.

You will need a specific licence to fish in a National Park which can be purchased at the Park Headquarters at each Park site.
